Rental Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to every bin rental booked through this website. Please read them before you book — by placing an order you agree to them.

1. What a rental includes

Each rental covers delivery of one bin to your address, a 7-day rental period, collection of the bin at the end of that period, and disposal of its contents up to the included weight shown below. Prices are in Canadian dollars and 13% HST is added at checkout.

Bin Price Included weight Rental period
5-Yard $350 1 tonne (2,000 lb) 7 days
10-Yard $400 1 tonne (2,000 lb) 7 days
14-Yard $480 2 tonnes (4,000 lb) 7 days
20-Yard $550 2.5 tonnes (5,000 lb) 7 days

2. Booking and payment

You choose a delivery date when you book. We require at least one day’s notice. The pickup date is the sixth day after delivery, giving a 7-day period, and is shown to you before you pay. Payment is taken in full by card at the time of booking.

3. Extending your rental

To request more time, contact DDM Bin Rentals at least one business day before your scheduled pickup. Extensions are subject to availability. We will confirm the revised pickup date and any additional rental charge before the extension begins, and we will not process an extension charge without your approval. If the bin is not ready or accessible on the scheduled pickup date, the rental continues until the bin is ready and collection can be completed safely.

4. Weight allowance and overage

Each bin includes the disposal weight shown in the table above. Loads are weighed at the disposal facility.

If the disposal-facility scale weight exceeds the allowance included with your bin, you are responsible for the disposal cost of the excess weight only. Before processing an overage charge, we will tell you the recorded excess weight and the applicable charge and obtain your authorization. A copy of the available weight record will be provided on request. If the load is too heavy to transport safely, you must remove enough material before collection can take place.

5. What you may put in the bin

Household junk, furniture, renovation debris, wood and drywall, yard waste, construction waste, and general cleanout material.

6. What you may not put in the bin

The following are not accepted in any bin:

  • Concrete, soil and asphalt
  • Hazardous materials
  • Paints and chemicals
  • Appliances
  • Tires
  • Batteries

If you are not sure whether something is accepted, ask us before you load it.

If prohibited material is visible before collection, we may refuse to collect the bin until you remove it. If prohibited material is discovered after collection or at the disposal facility, you are responsible for the actual third-party handling, disposal, cleanup, fine or penalty caused by that material; we will give you the details before processing an additional charge. Concrete, soil and asphalt are not accepted under the mixed-waste rentals offered on this website and must not be loaded unless DDM Bin Rentals has expressly agreed in writing to a separate service before delivery.

7. Loading the bin

Please load the bin evenly and do not fill it above the top rim. An overfilled bin cannot be transported safely or legally and we may be unable to collect it.

If a load is above the top rim, uneven or otherwise unsafe to transport, the driver may refuse collection. You must remove or rearrange the material so the load is level and safe; our driver is not required to unload it. We will then arrange another pickup. Any additional rental time or return-visit charge will be explained and agreed with you before the pickup is rescheduled.

8. Access and placement

You are responsible for making sure the delivery location is clear and reachable by truck on the delivery date, and for keeping the pickup location clear on the collection date. Please do not park vehicles where the bin is to be placed.

You are responsible for checking and complying with the rules that apply at the delivery address. If the bin will occupy a road, public lane, sidewalk, boulevard or other municipal right-of-way, you must obtain and display any required permit and provide us with a copy at least one business day before delivery. DDM Bin Rentals does not obtain permits unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing. We may refuse or reschedule delivery when required proof of a permit has not been provided.

9. Property damage

You choose or authorize the placement location and are responsible for confirming that the access route and surface can support the combined weight of our vehicle, the bin and its contents. We will use reasonable care, but heavy vehicles and loaded bins can mark, crack or sink asphalt, interlock, paving, curbs, lawns and other surfaces, especially where a surface is soft, recently installed or affected by heat. DDM Bin Rentals is not responsible for damage arising from an unsuitable surface, concealed or underground conditions, or a placement you requested, except to the extent the damage was caused by our failure to use reasonable care or liability cannot lawfully be excluded. We may refuse a placement that our driver considers unsafe.

10. Cancelling or rescheduling

Contact us by phone or email at least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery to cancel for a full refund or to reschedule without a service charge. For a request received less than 24 hours before delivery, we will refund the amount paid less any direct, non-recoverable dispatch or delivery cost already incurred. Once the truck has been dispatched or the bin has been delivered, the completed delivery portion of the service is non-refundable. We will tell you the amount and basis of any deduction before processing it. This section does not limit any cancellation or refund right provided by law, and you will receive a full refund if we cancel or cannot provide the booked service.

11. Failed or blocked collection

If the driver cannot safely reach or collect the bin because access is blocked, the load is overfilled, prohibited material is present or site conditions are unsafe, the bin will remain at the address and in your care. You must correct the issue and contact us to arrange another pickup. The extension terms above apply from the original pickup date until collection is completed, and we will confirm any return-visit charge before rescheduling. No extra rental charge applies to a collection delay caused solely by DDM Bin Rentals.

12. The bin remains our property

The bin stays the property of DDM Bin Rentals throughout the rental. While it is at your address you are responsible for it, including loss or damage beyond normal use. Please do not move the bin from where it was placed.

13. Service area

We serve Toronto and the GTA, including Peel Region, York Region and Durham Region. If your address is outside our service area we will contact you and refund your booking.

14. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a right or remedy that cannot be excluded under applicable law, or liability arising from negligence, wilful misconduct or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to that rule, DDM Bin Rentals is responsible for direct loss that was reasonably foreseeable and caused by our failure to provide the service with reasonable care. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, project delay, or loss caused by your breach of these terms, prohibited contents, an unsafe or unsuitable placement, a third party, severe weather, traffic restrictions, municipal action or another event beyond our reasonable control. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.
